ClockworkWP didn’t magically appear in 2019 (though that would’ve been pretty cool). Our story starts over a decade earlier, back when WordPress was just a twinkle in the internet’s eye. That’s when one plucky web developer decided to see what all the fuss was about.
The Sideways8 Years: 2008-2019
In 2008, our CEO Aaron Reimann took his first deep dive into WordPress. What began as a solo venture driven by a passion for technology, quickly grew into Sideways8 Interactive – a full-service WordPress agency spearheaded with co-owner Adam Walker. Over the next 11 years, Sideways8 built a reputation for excellence in WordPress site builds, design, hosting, support, and custom development.
We’re talking “we can make WordPress do backflips” level of expertise.
As the team expanded, so did our web wizardry. Beyond building great websites, we were solving complex digital problems for businesses across Atlanta and beyond. Many of the team members and clients who joined us during the Sideways8 era are still with us today – either because they truly love us or they’ve forgotten how to quit (we’re not asking questions).
The Birth of ClockworkWP
2019 marked a turning point. When Sideways8’s development and design portfolio was acquired by another Atlanta-based agency, Aaron saw an opportunity to refocus his energies. ClockworkWP was born, initially as a specialized web hosting and maintenance company dedicated to providing continued service to Sideways8’s existing clients.
But we quickly realized our potential reached far beyond hosting and maintenance. Our decades of experience as WordPress wranglers (yes, we’re old in internet years) have given us a unique perspective on what businesses truly need to succeed online.

Following the thread into 2024, we took another significant leap forward by acquiring New Tricks – a respected WordPress-focused design team based in Atlanta.
Why now, and how? Judi Knight, the founder of New Tricks, and Aaron, have been leaders in Atlanta’s WordPress community for quite some time. They’ve built a strong mutual respect over the years, including Judi bringing on our team to consult on projects in the past.
As Judi started planning her retirement, she wanted a trustworthy team to oversee the continued success of both her clients and her team of digital alchemists. ClockworkWP was the clear choice, proving that you absolutely can teach an old(ish!) dog new tricks.
