Clockwork From WP to WD

The internet I started using many years ago looks very different from the web as we know it today. I’ve watched technologies rise and fall, from dial-up connections to Netscape Navigator and the browser wars. Once-dominant tools like Flash, FrontPage, and Internet Explorer are remnants of the past. The web moves fast, and it’s my job to keep Clockwork ahead of the curve. That’s why I’m excited to announce that our identity is finally catching up with our far-reaching expertise.

Start with Deep Audience Understanding

Clockwork has been a world-class WordPress agency since the get-go. Yes, we started as a specialized web hosting shop, but our tech stack isn’t limited to one platform. With Gutenberg (WordPress’s native page builder), ReactJS has become a common tool for WordPress developers. This is the same framework powering Facebook, Netflix, WhatsApp, and Shopify.

ReactJS is just one of many tools we use that are shared across development platforms. This overlap in technologies means the skills we’ve honed as WordPress wizards transfer directly to many other development environments. That’s why we’re now blossoming beyond WordPress to deliver custom web development solutions for more complex business needs.

Peek Under the Hood

Two recent projects we have launched for the Georgia Department of Education show just how far we’ve come. When GaDOE reached out to us about their teacher-focused Community website, they had a WordPress site with 50,000 users. A large internal GaDOE team manages their content updates as well as the large, statewide membership base. They needed a mobile app that could serve their diverse audience and site moderators. Since WordPress has a REST API, we used React Native to build a native app for Android and iOS, making it easier for users to access the information they need.

The new Georgia Dept. of Education website also showcases our diverse capabilities. Their website had grown to over 2,000 pages with content scattered across departments. We built this one-of-a-kind platform using:

  •  A custom headless architecture with WordPress as the CMS backend and Next.js/GraphQL powering the frontend
  • Custom post types with automated approval workflows for department-specific content management
  • A containerized deployment on Azure with CI/CD pipeline for seamless updates and scaling

These recent projects are just a sampling of how we’ve already been working beyond WordPress. With these skills in our toolkit, it made sense for our company name to reflect officially expanding into other frameworks.

What This Means For Your Business

For your business, this means more options and solutions tailored to your specific needs:

  • Custom application development with Laravel
  • Content management with Drupal or other CMS platforms
  • Headless WordPress implementations
  • Native mobile application development
  • API development and integration

The tools and talent are there. Now, it’s about using them in the right way.

Built for What Comes Next

The web will continue evolving, often in unexpected ways. That’s not scary. It’s exciting! We’ve always been WordPress experts. That’s not changing. But as the web evolves, so do the challenges businesses face. Our team has been solving complex technical problems for years, and now, with a bigger crew, we’re officially expanding our capabilities.

Stand out online with bold and effective web design Atlanta companies choose. If you’re facing challenges that seem to push beyond the boundaries of traditional WordPress solutions, let’s talk about what’s possible.
